Freedom is truth, and truth is power.

I like Ron Paul. In fact I registered as a republican on December 5 just so I could participate in the Colorado Republican Caucus. But let me be clear, I’m most interested in finding a president that will support the tenets of freedom, peace, and personal choice. Democrat, Republican, Liberterian, Green Party - you name it. Right now, I think that guy is either Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich, perhaps both. Watch the following video and let me know what you think of the message of Ron Paul. Tomorrow is a big day for him, and hopefully our country. Check out RonPaul2008.com to see as the support rolls in. Tomorrow is the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, and will quite possibly be the biggest day of fundraising ever seen in American politics. The people want change. Do you?

Ron Paul, eh? Better than some of the other candidates I guess. Don’t really like his immigration views, and his world view (foreign affairs) is a bit unrealistic. But I’d rather have him than a fake realist (cough, bush) or a dubious optimist (cough cough cough). Feel free to delete this comment into deletion.

Delete? Not my style. I think politics should be discussed more. I value each and ever opinion I hear, if it can be backed up with some sort of meaningful research, passion, or the like. Such conversations need to happen between both strangers and friends in the near future if we are gonna find someone better than ol’ GW. I mean Giuliani, Hillary, Romney, McCain, all make me want to croak. I’m just looking for someone who is principled and honest, not owned by the corporations. I like Ron Paul, but I don’t align with ALL of his views.

Ron Paul doesn’t have solutions. He has complaints; common, unoriginal complaints. While it is nice to throw your weight behind an ideological curtain, it’s also nice to support a viable candidate. I’m all for small government too, and used to think that was part of the republican platform. Unfortunately, under the guise of securing Americans against terrorism, Bush has mandated and overseen the largest expansion of the federal government with homeland security since LBJ and medicare. But Ron Paul can’t simply reverse a bureauacracy. And his immigration policies suck (though I am sure that is why he is a Congressman in Texas). Lastly, I think any form of protectionism is a bad policy for the global world in which we live.

If they mobilize the christian right behind a Republican candidate against Hilary, I think the republicans have a chance, a small one albeit. My first candidate of choice is obama. i think he needs edwards to be his VP to have a shot in carrying the southern vote. I agree that Hillary is too controversial for the American people…but I’d still vote for her. I really don’t want Edwards to win the presidential nominee after reading his comments on his so-called solution in Iraq. And I can’t see Hillary accepting the VP nomination, not after all of this mud-slinging.

Don’t even get me started on Huckabee. He makes my skin crawl.

Crystal - I too like Obama. But I think your views on Ron Paul are a little misguided. Who cares if complaints are common and unoriginal. If that is indeed the case, wouldn’t you like someone who stood up for those views? I would. He doesn’t have solutions? Does anyone? Every candidate is speaking in generalities at this point. But he certainly is more knowledgeable than obama or any other candidate when speaking about the constitution, constitutional right, history, the money crisis, you name it. Like I said before - I just want someone in office who is principled, honest, and reasonable. I think both Obama and Paul can tackle such tasks albeit from different platforms. Socialism vs. Free Market - I don’t really care, I just want Americans to be happy, giving, caring people.
