What seems to be the problem
My mother, brother, and I were traveling to the gym when we passed a truck with a man inside smoking. I pondered out loud, I don’t get it, I really just don’t get it. What is the appeal of smoking? What is wrong with people?
My mom returned a simple statement, People just don’t care about their health Ryan. Really, I questioned - utterly flabbergasted. Is that it? People don’t care about their health? Do you really think that Mom? I don’t know, she said, don’t you?
And of course that got me thinking for a bit. Perhaps people don’t care about their health. Perhaps they don’t care until it’s too late. The morbidly obese guy, the cancerous smoker, the helmet less cyclist. Is that the problem?
Do YOU care about your health? I’m asking this openly and plainly. I’d never considered the possibility before. And certainly if this is the case, it would explain many things to me. Just some thoughts I was having today.
