an afternoon spin

My brother and his friend Jay went out for a little spin this morning. They decided the other day to give cycling to Colorado Springs a shot. Quite certain those guys wouldn’t find the friendliest roads on the way down there, I scrambled out this morning to find them on a lively HWY-93.

leaving town

I’m not gonna lie, these chaps were looking a little tired around mile 8, with something around 92 more to go. And I think my brother said something like, “This sucks”, yeah - that was it. The three of us laughed, and they kept on cruising.

the hills

Got to get into shape somehow, right? Cycling 100 miles isn’t exactly conventional, but definitely what I love about this here state. I’m quite certain you don’t find these sorts of people everywhere in the republic. In fact I bet a lot of them are sitting around dipping their fried chicken into a little ranch watching groups of collegiate overweights bustling around between 30 second breaks. To each his own someone once said. So i’ll let it be.

If you see these guys cruising down Highway 83 this afternoon, don’t forget to share the road. Roads were made for more than cars my friends.
