BCH is not my arch nemesis

It’s never good when I answer my cell phone and the first words I hear are “Ryan will you take me to the emergency room?” But so it goes and so it went tonight. The caller was my brother and my obvious response was, “ummm, yes”. Apparently he was having a little too much fun tearing down the Christmas lights at his house. He ripped a strand down a little too hard and blammo, the plug whipped back and hit him in the eye.

Off we were to Boulder Community Hospital, second time in a week - I’ll chronicle the other visit in a later post. Before I left to grab Alex I took a few scrambling seconds and packed for the long haul. I grabbed the iPod, camera, object oriented programming notes from MIT OpenCourseWare, a spanish book, and the Economist. I was ready.

We rolled in and the place was dead. We were in and out with an examination, diagnosis, and prescribed meds in twenty two minutes. You can’t beat that. I didn’t even open up my bag for any of the goodness I brought. We spent all of our time marveling at the dental box. We found it rather comical being the sons of a dentista and all. Didn’t seem like that ol’ box could pack much punch. But if they had it, I’m sure it did.
