Mmmm, remember that?

My buddy Rick has asked me several times throughout the years, “Ryan, Do you associate smells or scents with particular events in your life?” And I usally say, “Nope”. Because I can’t really say that I do. Then I sit there and wish that I could, because that seems pretty damned neat.

Well last night I was cruising back from the infinite coolness of Colorado Springs to bTown. My mom offered me a Sprite for the ride, thinking that the soda would help keep me awake. I didn’t want to break her spirits and tell her ol’ Sprite doesn’t do caffeine, so I obliged and took the mini-bottle on the road. As I entered Castle Rock, boredom was creeping up on me and the podcasts weren’t doing it, so I indulged in some of that pseudo-caffeine my mum hooked me up with.

I twisted off the cap and took a sip. Out of nowhere came some straight up weirdness. Peru. Yep, this sprite tasted like Peru. To be honest, I suppose it tasted like Peru, because when I was there it tasted a lot like America. Regardless of the chain of events I was sippin’ on some Peru last night and it tasted good.
