Much ado about sumthin
is getting married. And by golly we had a tremendous time this weekend celebrating that fact. We celebrated friendship, and honored that friendship too, we celebrated the upcoming marriage, and we honored that marriage too. I can’t express how excited I am for Chris, for Megan. They are two of the most genuine, caring and loving friends that I have, and they’re marrying eachother!
Not only were we celebrating those two, but a hob glob of other boys took part in this weekend to applaud the marriages of our friends Geoff and Jenny, and also Michelle and Josh. Needless to say, the team was out in full force.
The core Chrisman crew (Reed, Joe, Biff, Chris, and I) rolled into Vegas bout 4:30pm on Friday. By 7:30 we were watching “O” at the Bellagio. My jaw was on the floor, saying things like “Holy Sh**”, “Amazing”, “Oh my God” over and over. Always curious how Olympic divers and gymnasts were making money between Olympics Games - I had inadvertently stumbled upon my answer. Vegas. Post show we wound up with the boys at Sensi for some chow. Post meal/drinks we hit up Light, a happenin little club also within the grand walls of the Bellagio. From midnight ’til 4am we danced to our hearts content. We met people, we drank and we danced. Bed found us an hour or so later.
Sunday, the pool was calling us around noon, and we were happy to answer. Celebrations were rampant across the pool area, never have I seen so many people basking in the glory of the sun. Beers in hand, talking, dancing, swimming, enjoying what was. The whole crew hit the lazy river about five and that’s when the trouble started. A traffic jam of sorts formed as we dunked eachother, jumping from the bank onto one another, doing the careless and free things that boys do best. Shower time, then a quick buffet. The five of us then ventured back out to the wave pool for the Counting Crows concert. A rather intimate setting, we stood in about eight inches of water a mere fifty feet away from ‘em. Adam Duritz, the lead singer, was visibly drunk during the first song. While this had some effect on the quality of their music, his humor made up for whatever was lost. Stumbling at times, pretend slamming his mike, throwin back the wine, the show rocked as a rock concert should. Quickly back to the room, we changed and took off for Jet at The Mirage, to meet the rest of our party. Back in bed by 4:30 am. We woke at nine to catch our flight back to dTown.
Never before have I been on a vacation that packed so much excitement, energy and passion. Congratulations Mister Chrisman, Congratulations!
