Worth a try
I work with some pretty rad people. They do some pretty rad things. Often they cause laughter so deep, so relentless, that tears come to my eyes. The latest gimmick equaled what I amount to pure craziness within the walls of my head… It all started with ol’ Zarqawi givin’ into that 500 lb. bomb. Only time will tell if that will have any effect on ol Al Qaeda over in Iraq. But that’s not the point of this here post. The point is to bring to light some communication between my friend/co-worker and the U.S. State Department. Here are the first two emails (contact info has been substituted for his privacy):

Subject: Zarqawi Bounty
Dear State Department.
According to the article below, you have not yet identified who will be the recipient of the $25 million bounty for the death of terrorist Zarqawi.
I am writing to inform you that I am responsible for the death of this crazed Islamic fundamentalist and deserve the $25 million dollar grand prize.
How do I figure that I deserve this bounty? Easy, I paid over $12,000 in taxes last year. Is that enough reason for you? I contend that the 25 cent chunk(s) of depleted uranium that shreaded Zarqawi were paid for by me and were built using part of my $12,000.
Please make the check out to cash and send to “My Co-Worker”, ### #### ######. Brighton CO 80602
Thank you,
My Co-Worker

Dear Mr. Co-Worker,
I regret to inform you that after analyzing the details of your claims, Rewards for Justice had decided not to issue you the $25 million bounty for Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
Regards,

How you like them apples? My co-worker exchanged a few more emails with the State Department and they finally sent him an email with the addresses of the Colorado Senators & House Representatives. They told him that if he wasn’t happy with the current tax policies that he should complain to them.
I say it was worth a try.
