Humbled.

So I go to buy a iPod Shuffle on Monday at CompUSA. Supposedly they had 4 1GB models in stock. To make a long story short - the employee that was helping me was very much not helpful. He told me that no one in the store was able to check the boxes in the back…blah blah blah.

I left the store more irritated than anytime in my recent memory. My heart wouldn’t stop beating fast. Weird, I know. Solution: go running. I took off up baseline aiming at Flagstaff Mountain. I got to Chataqua Park by the time it got dark. I turned to return home after stopping for a bit to admire our mountains. Lost in my music - I was crossing 14th street when I realized that a car was waiting to turn. Just as I’m in the middle of the street - the driver lays into his horn for a brief moment - totally catching me off guard. I waited until I got to the side walk to turn back and flick him off. That got my heart racing again.

Side Note: This is one of the reasons I like running on trails so much. No cars on trails. No mean people in cars on trails. No honking.

So I ran at super hyper-speed all the way home - just to work out some of my frustrations. Troy mentions that my phone has been going crazy. I check my messages - there is just one - from my long time buddy Sean Cavanagh:

“Yo Ryan Roth, it’s Cavanagh. I know you’re out running right now because I just honked at you and you flipped me off - but its ok, i forgive you because my honk was just love and I know your big f*** you was just love too. Hope you had a good run buddy - see ya.”

Yep - I’m a jackass.
